Why Foster?

Fostering is the heart of our organization. Shelters nationwide struggle to accommodate the influx of dogs, leading many dogs to experience anxiety and stress due to limited mental and physical engagement. These conditions often lead to uncharacteristic behaviors, making it harder for these dogs to find homes and sadly, increasing euthanasia rates due to declining behavior and space constraints. Fostering offers them safety and a nurturing environment, allowing them to adjust while awaiting their forever family. Your home gives them the best chance at finding adoption.

Fostering comes at no cost to you. We cover all pertinent care expenses, including veterinary costs for your foster dog.

Ideally, our foster families care for their foster dogs until they find a permanent home, which can range from 2 months to 1+ year(s). Unfortunately, the demand for dogs has decreased, and we’re seeing wonderful, adoptable dogs stay in foster homes longer than usual due to an imbalance between supply and demand. We do our best to match you with a dog that aligns with your environment, experience, and lifestyle.

If adopting isn’t feasible at the moment, fostering allows you to experience the joys of having a dog without the lifelong commitment.

Witnessing a dog blossom in a home environment, shedding their fears and embracing their true selves, is an immensely rewarding experience.

Organizations like ours rely on foster families. We don’t have a physical facility, so every dog in a foster home opens up shelter space, enabling us to save more lives. Your support as a foster makes a massive difference.
